Crew Mate Inspired by Among Us.

So, a while back there was a small craze where crochet artists were creating their own patterns for the Among Us Crewmates. I resisted at first, but then saw how much my two boys enjoy the Among Us video game and decided to hop on board and make my own pattern.
Trust me when I say that those hard to please tweens in your life with absolutely melt into smiles when they see their crewmate in three dimensions!
This pattern is fairly easy and requires few materials. So, let's get started!
Materials:
Yarn - worsted weight in your choice of color (pictured above is Red Heart Comfort Yarn in Turquoise, below is Red Heart Super Saver in Red), for the goggles - small amount of light blue, black, and white.
3.5 mm crochet hook (E)
Fiberfill
Blunt tip yarn needle
Skill level: beginner/intermediate
Abbreviations:
- mr = magic ring
- sc = single crochet
- inc = increase
- dec = decrease
- st = stitch
- sl st = slip stitch
- BLO = back loop only
The head and body are all one piece. We will start at the top of the head and work our way down.
Head/body:
In your main color
Rnd 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Rnd 2: inc x 6 (12)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc) x 6 (18)
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) x 6 (24)
Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc) x 6 (30)
Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc) x 6 (36)
Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 st, inc) x 6 (42)
Rnd 8: (sc in next 6 st, inc) x 6 (48)
Rnd 9: (sc in next 7 st, inc) x 6 (54)
Rnd 10: (sc in next 8 st, inc) x 6 (60)
Rnd 11 - 33: sc 60 (60) - 23 rounds
Stuff the body.
At this point, we are going to create the legs. To do that, you will need to divide the body down the middle. DO NOT FASTEN OFF. Count 30 sc, on the 31st sc, place a stitch marker. When creating the first leg, you will not go beyond the 30th stitch. The marker is there to remind you. When you read this point, you will join the other side at the first sc.
To make things easier, we are going to start over with round counts.
Leg:
continuing in same color
Rnd 1: sc 30, join with sl st to first sc of this round.
Rnd 2 - 6: sc 30 (5 rounds)
Rnd 7: (sc in next 4 st, dec) x 6 (24)
Rnd 8: (sc in next 3 st, dec) x 6 (18)
Rnd 9: (sc in next 2 st, dec) x 6 (12)
Stuff the leg firmly.
Rnd 10: (sc in next st, dec) x 6 (6)
Fasten off leaving a tail. Using your yarn needle and the tail, close the hole.
For the second leg, join yarn at the stitch marker. Repeat rounds 1 - 10 above.
Backpack:
Continue in the same color
Chain 20
Rnd 1: 2 sc in 2nd st from hook. sc 17, 4 sc in last st. Working around the other side of the chain - sc 17, 2 sc in last st.
Rnd 2: BLO, sc around
Rnd 3 - 11: sc around (9 rounds)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Lightly stuff. Using yarn needle whipstitch the top closed. Attach to back.
Goggles:
In light blue
Chain 13
Rnd 1: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 10, 4 sc in last st. Working around the other side of the chain - sc 10, inc x 3.

Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing. Attach to the body as shown. Stuff firmly before closing.

That's all there is to it! Pretty cool, huh? You can make one in every color!
